The gold rate in UAE today, October 28, 2026, held at AED 489 per gram for 24-carat gold after international bullion recovered above $4,050 an ounce ahead of the Federal Reserve’s interest-rate decision.
The 22K gold rate stood at AED 452.75 per gram, while 21K and 18K gold were quoted at AED 434.25 and AED 372.25, respectively. The published benchmark prices are provided by the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group and apply across the UAE.
The following prices are quoted in UAE dirhams per gram.
Gold Type | Today’s Rate | Previous Rate | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
24 Carat | AED 489.00 | AED 485.25 | +AED 3.75 |
22 Carat | AED 452.75 | AED 449.25 | +AED 3.50 |
21 Carat | AED 434.25 | AED 430.75 | +AED 3.50 |
18 Carat | AED 372.25 | AED 369.25 | +AED 3.00 |
14 Carat | AED 290.25 | AED 288.00 | +AED 2.25 |
The “previous rate” column compares the latest benchmark with the October 26 closing level. UAE gold prices first reached their present levels on October 27 and remained unchanged in the latest October 28 morning update.
The increase lifted 24K gold by AED 3.75 per gram, or approximately 0.8%, while 22K gold recorded a similar percentage gain.
A buyer purchasing 10 grams at the published benchmark would pay approximately:
These calculations cover the underlying gold value only. Jewellery retailers may add making charges, design premiums and applicable taxes to the final price.
The latest advance extends gold’s recovery from its October 23–25 lows.
UAE 24K gold fell to AED 481 per gram on October 23 before stabilizing at AED 481.50 over the weekend. It subsequently climbed to AED 485.25 on October 26 and AED 489 on October 27.
The 22K rate followed the same pattern, recovering from AED 445.25 on October 23 to AED 452.75.
Despite the rebound, local gold remains below its October high. The 24K rate reached AED 505.50 per gram on October 10 and 11, while 22K gold traded as high as AED 468.
Over the latest 30-day period, 24K gold has fallen from AED 501.25 to AED 489, a decline of AED 12.25 per gram, or approximately 2.4%. The 22K rate has declined by AED 11.50, or about 2.5%.
This means current buyers are paying less than at the early-October peak, although prices remain high by historical standards.
UAE gold prices recovered after international bullion moved back above $4,050 an ounce.
Spot gold traded near $4,058 during the latest US session, rising approximately 1% as falling crude-oil prices reduced some inflation concerns and encouraged renewed precious-metals buying.
Gold’s advance was limited by a firm US dollar and elevated Treasury yields. The benchmark 10-year US Treasury yield remained close to 5%, increasing the opportunity cost of holding gold because bullion does not pay interest.
Stronger US economic data also prevented a larger rally. Durable-goods orders increased 1.8% in September, while consumer confidence rose more than expected in October. The data supported the view that the US economy can withstand restrictive interest rates.
The conflicting forces explain why gold recovered but remained below the October highs. Safe-haven demand and lower oil prices supported bullion, while high yields and a stronger dollar continued to limit gains.
The Federal Reserve will announce its interest-rate decision at 2 p.m. Eastern Time, followed by Chair Kevin Warsh’s press conference at 2:30 p.m.
Markets assign roughly a 90% probability to the Fed leaving its benchmark rate unchanged at 3.75% to 4.00%.
The decision itself may therefore produce a limited reaction. The larger market move is likely to depend on whether Warsh keeps another rate increase on the table for December.
US inflation remains above the Fed’s target. September consumer prices increased 3.7% from a year earlier, while producer inflation reached 6.3%. Elevated energy prices and resilient economic activity have prevented policymakers from declaring that the inflation fight is over.
These conditions have left investors debating whether an October pause represents the end of the tightening cycle or only a temporary interruption.
Gold’s reaction will depend on changes in Treasury yields, the dollar and expectations for the Fed’s December meeting.
If Warsh emphasizes slower growth or signals that another increase is not guaranteed, Treasury yields could decline and the dollar may weaken.
That outcome would likely support gold. A break above $4,079 could bring $4,100 into focus, potentially lifting the UAE 24K rate toward AED 493 to AED 495 per gram.
A pause accompanied by warnings about inflation would be less favorable for gold.
If traders increase their expectations for a December rate increase, the 10-year Treasury yield could remain near or above 5%. International bullion may then struggle to break $4,100, leaving UAE gold prices near their current levels.
An unexpected 25-basis-point increase would likely strengthen the dollar and push Treasury yields higher.
Gold could initially retreat below $4,015 or test the $4,000 psychological level. Such a move could return the UAE 24K rate toward AED 481–485, depending on the size of the international market reaction.

Spot gold faces its first significant resistance around $4,079, followed by the psychological $4,100 level.
A sustained move above $4,100 could expose $4,160 and $4,180. Such a breakout would likely push UAE retail benchmarks higher, particularly if accompanied by a weaker dollar and declining bond yields.
Initial support is located near $4,039, followed by $4,015. A break below those levels would place $4,000 and $3,975 back in focus.
International Gold Level | Possible Market Interpretation |
|---|---|
Above $4,100 | Bullish breakout with scope for higher UAE rates |
$4,039–$4,079 | Consolidation before or after the Fed decision |
Below $4,015 | Renewed pressure from yields and the dollar |
Below $4,000 | Risk of a deeper correction in UAE gold prices |
The latest rate remains below the early-October peak, but the Federal Reserve decision could produce significant short-term volatility.
Buyers purchasing jewellery for personal use may reduce timing risk by dividing a larger purchase into smaller transactions rather than relying on a single entry price.
Investment-focused buyers should also consider the difference between the published metal rate and the final retail price. High making charges can reduce the benefit of a modest decline in the underlying gold rate.
For sellers, the Fed decision represents a potential catalyst. A softer policy message could support another move toward the October highs, while hawkish guidance may reverse the latest recovery.
The immediate outlook for the gold rate in UAE today therefore depends on whether international bullion can hold above $4,050 and whether the Fed reinforces or weakens expectations for another rate increase before the end of 2026.
