gold rate in uae

Key Takeaways

  • The gold rate in UAE today stands at AED 485.25 per gram for 24K gold, up AED 3.75 from the weekend level.
  • The widely purchased 22K rate has climbed to AED 449.25 per gram, while 21K gold is priced at AED 430.75.
  • International spot gold recovered above $4,000 as lower oil prices eased inflation concerns ahead of the Federal Reserve’s October decision.
  • Markets largely expect the Fed to hold rates at 3.75%–4.00%, but a hawkish signal regarding December could limit gold’s recovery.

The gold rate in UAE today, October 27, 2026, is holding at a higher level after international bullion reclaimed the psychologically important $4,000 threshold.

The UAE benchmark price for 24-karat gold stands at AED 485.25 per gram, while 22-karat gold is quoted at AED 449.25. Both rates have recovered from their weekend levels but remain well below the highs recorded earlier in October.

International spot gold traded near $4,017 per ounce during Tuesday’s Asian session. The metal recovered after briefly falling below $4,000, supported by lower oil prices and a modest retreat in US Treasury yields. However, a stronger dollar and uncertainty surrounding the Federal Reserve’s policy outlook have prevented a more substantial rally.

The 24K rate has increased approximately 0.8% from AED 481.50, while 22K gold has risen around 0.7% from AED 446.00. The 21K and 18K benchmarks have recorded similar percentage gains.

A buyer purchasing 10 grams at the current benchmark would pay approximately AED 4,852.50 for 24K gold or AED 4,492.50 for 22K gold before making charges and applicable VAT.

The benchmark metal rate is generally standardized across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the other emirates. Final jewellery prices may differ because retailers apply separate design premiums and making charges.

UAE Gold Prices Recover From a Sharp October Decline

The latest rebound follows a significant correction in UAE gold prices.

The 24K rate reached AED 505.50 per gram on October 11 before falling to AED 481.00 on October 23. Even after recovering to AED 485.25, the benchmark remains AED 20.25 below its October 11 level.

For a 10-gram purchase, that difference amounts to AED 202.50 before additional retail costs.

The decline was particularly sharp during the second half of October as global gold came under pressure from hotter US inflation, higher oil prices and expectations that the Federal Reserve could continue raising interest rates.

Compared with the September 27 rate of AED 516.50, 24K gold remains AED 31.25 lower, representing a decline of approximately 6%.

The pullback has reduced costs for UAE jewellery buyers, although prices remain historically elevated and could experience another large move following the Fed decision.

Why Has International Gold Reclaimed $4,000?

Spot gold returned above $4,000 after crude oil prices retreated from recent highs.

Bullion climbed approximately 0.6% to around $4,020 on Monday after rebounding from an intraday low near $3,978. Lower oil prices reduced some of the immediate concern that an energy shock would force the Fed to tighten monetary policy more aggressively.

Gold had fallen around 4% during the previous week, its steepest weekly decline since June. The sell-off pushed prices to their lowest level since mid-July before buyers returned near the $4,000 threshold.

Three factors supported the rebound:

  • Oil prices moved lower, easing some inflation concerns.
  • The 10-year Treasury yield remained below 5% after reaching 5.31% earlier in October.
  • Traders reduced bearish positions after gold briefly broke below an important psychological level.

However, the recovery remains fragile. The US dollar strengthened on Monday, with the WSJ Dollar Index reaching its highest close since October 19. A stronger dollar generally makes gold more expensive for buyers using other currencies.

Federal Reserve Decision Becomes the Main Gold Catalyst

The Federal Reserve will announce its interest-rate decision on Wednesday, October 28, at 2 p.m. Eastern Time, equivalent to 10 p.m. in the UAE.

Markets assign approximately a 90% probability that the Fed will hold its benchmark rate at 3.75%–4.00%. The central bank raised rates by 25 basis points in September, its first increase in three years.

Although an October pause is widely anticipated, investors are pricing a roughly 80% probability of another increase by December.

That makes Chair Kevin Warsh’s press conference more important than the immediate decision. Gold traders will listen for signals about:

  • Whether inflation remains broad-based beyond energy prices
  • How the Fed assesses the economic impact of high oil prices
  • Whether another December increase is the central bank’s base case
  • Whether recent weakness in employment could delay further tightening
  • How restrictive policymakers believe current financial conditions are

A hawkish pause could lift the dollar and Treasury yields, putting renewed pressure on gold. A more cautious message could reduce December rate-hike expectations and allow bullion to extend its recovery.

Oil Prices Remain a Double-Edged Driver

The Middle East conflict continues to create conflicting forces for gold.

Higher oil prices can increase demand for safe-haven assets by raising concerns about geopolitical instability and global growth. At the same time, expensive energy lifts inflation and strengthens the case for restrictive monetary policy.

Brent crude recently reached $116.72 per barrel before pulling back. The retreat helped gold recover, but crude remains substantially above levels seen before the escalation in the Middle East.

If oil resumes its advance, markets may focus on the inflationary consequences rather than the traditional safe-haven argument. That could push Treasury yields higher and limit gold’s upside.

A sustained decline in oil would provide the opposite signal. Lower energy prices could reduce expected inflation, weaken the case for additional Fed rate increases and improve the near-term outlook for bullion.

PCE Inflation Could Move Gold Again After the Fed

Gold volatility may continue after Wednesday’s Fed announcement.

The United States will release its September Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index on Thursday. The PCE index is the Fed’s preferred inflation measure.

Economists expect headline PCE inflation to rise to approximately 3.6%–3.7% year over year, while core inflation is forecast near 3.1%. The data will arrive after the Fed meeting but could quickly reshape expectations for December.

A hotter-than-expected result would reinforce the case for another interest-rate increase. Softer inflation could support gold by placing downward pressure on Treasury yields and the dollar.

Third-quarter US GDP, jobless claims and personal spending figures are also scheduled for Thursday, creating another potential source of volatility.

What the Rebound Means for UAE Gold Buyers

The recovery to AED 485.25 has partially reversed the recent decline, but local prices remain below most of October’s levels.

Buyers should consider both the benchmark rate and additional retail costs. The final price of jewellery normally includes:

  • Making charges
  • Design or brand premiums
  • Applicable VAT
  • Possible retailer buyback deductions

Making charges can account for a meaningful portion of the final bill, particularly for complex jewellery. Buyers comparing stores should therefore evaluate the total invoice rather than only the advertised rate per gram.

Gold bars and coins typically carry lower premiums than jewellery, although spreads and repurchase conditions vary between dealers.

UAE Gold Price Outlook

The immediate outlook depends on whether international bullion can remain above $4,000 after the Federal Reserve decision.

If spot gold breaks above $4,050, the next resistance area could appear around $4,100–$4,120. Such a move may lift the UAE 24K rate toward AED 490 and then AED 497 per gram.

If the Fed delivers a more hawkish message and gold falls below $3,980, the metal could retest approximately $3,950. A deeper decline toward $3,900 may pull the UAE 24K benchmark toward AED 470–AED 475.

Global Gold Scenario

Possible UAE 24K Direction

Gold rises above $4,050

Toward AED 490

Gold breaks above $4,100

Toward AED 497–AED 500

Gold remains near $4,000

Around AED 480–AED 487

Gold falls toward $3,900

Toward AED 470–AED 475

For now, the gold rate in UAE today has stabilized above its weekend low. Whether the rebound continues will depend on the Fed’s December guidance, movements in oil and Treasury yields, and Thursday’s US inflation report.
