The gold rate in UAE today, October 21, 2026, moved lower during morning trading, with 24-carat gold priced at AED 496.00 per gram and 22-carat gold at AED 459.25. Local prices followed international bullion lower as elevated US Treasury yields and uncertainty surrounding the Federal Reserve’s next interest-rate decision reduced demand for non-yielding assets.
The following prices are quoted in UAE dirhams per gram. Gulf News publishes the figures using rates supplied by the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group.
Gold Type | Morning | Afternoon | Yesterday |
|---|---|---|---|
24 Carat | AED 496.00 | — | AED 497.25 |
22 Carat | AED 459.25 | — | AED 460.50 |
21 Carat | AED 440.25 | — | AED 441.50 |
18 Carat | AED 377.50 | — | AED 378.50 |
14 Carat | AED 294.25 | — | AED 295.25 |
The 24K gold rate declined by AED 1.25 per gram, or approximately 0.25%, from the previous day. The 22K, 21K and 14K categories also dropped by AED 1.25, while 18K gold became AED 1 cheaper.
At the published morning benchmark, 10 grams of 24K gold would cost approximately AED 4,960. A similar purchase of 22K gold would cost AED 4,592.50. These calculations exclude making charges, retailer margins and any applicable taxes.
The decline in UAE gold prices reflected weakness in the international bullion market. Spot gold fell about 0.2% to $4,117.90 per ounce during early Asian trading.
Higher crude-oil prices have added to inflation concerns, strengthening expectations that US interest rates could remain elevated. High interest rates and rising bond yields can weigh on gold because the metal does not provide interest income.
The US 10-year Treasury yield rose to approximately 5.13% on Wednesday. Markets assigned an estimated 85% probability to the Federal Reserve leaving rates unchanged at its October meeting, although investors continued to price additional tightening over the following year.
The Federal Reserve’s next policy meeting is scheduled for October 27–28. Even if policymakers keep the federal funds rate at 3.75%–4.00%, signals concerning a possible December increase could influence the US dollar, Treasury yields and gold prices.
The table below shows the latest 30 days of UAE gold rates in AED per gram. The October 21 entry represents the latest morning quotation available when this article was prepared.

Near-term price direction will depend heavily on international bullion, US Treasury yields and expectations surrounding the Federal Reserve. A more hawkish policy message could push UAE gold rates lower, while falling yields or renewed safe-haven demand could help prices recover toward the AED 500 level for 24K gold.
