Bitcoin price AED

Key Takeaways

  • The Bitcoin price in UAE is trading near AED 292,500, based on a BTC/USD price of approximately $79,650.
  • Bitcoin briefly recovered above $80,000 but remains unable to establish a sustained rebound ahead of the Federal Reserve’s October decision.
  • US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $773.5 million in combined outflows across the final two sessions of last week.
  • AED 290,000 is the immediate support level, while AED 300,000 has emerged as the main barrier to a stronger recovery.

The Bitcoin price in UAE held near AED 292,500 on Tuesday as investors reduced risk before the Federal Reserve’s interest-rate decision.

Bitcoin traded at approximately $79,654, down around 0.3%, after moving between $79,441 and $80,673 during the latest session. The cryptocurrency briefly reclaimed $80,000 but failed to attract enough buying pressure to maintain the move.

Using the Central Bank of the UAE’s dollar conversion rate of AED 3.6725, the latest Bitcoin price is equivalent to approximately AED 292,529. The dirham’s fixed relationship with the dollar means that BTC/AED generally follows changes in Bitcoin’s US dollar price rather than independent currency fluctuations.

Bitcoin’s intraday range of $79,441 to $80,673 translates into approximately AED 291,747 to AED 296,272.

The cryptocurrency is therefore trading below the psychologically important AED 300,000 threshold. Bitcoin would need to rise to approximately $81,690 to reach AED 300,000 under the current fixed dollar-dirham exchange rate.

Ethereum, meanwhile, traded near $2,306, equivalent to approximately AED 8,470. It also remained under pressure as investors avoided more volatile assets before the Fed announcement.

Why Is Bitcoin Struggling to Recover?

Bitcoin has stabilized after dropping below $80,000, but the recovery remains weak.

The cryptocurrency touched approximately $79,250 on Monday, its lowest level since July. Although BTC subsequently recovered toward $80,000, it remained down about 2.2% over seven days and more than 5% over the previous 30 days.

Several factors are limiting demand:

  • Uncertainty surrounding the Federal Reserve’s next interest-rate move
  • A stronger US dollar
  • Treasury yields near 5%
  • Reversals in spot Bitcoin ETF flows
  • Weakness across technology and other risk-sensitive assets
  • Continued geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East

Bitcoin has increasingly traded like a high-volatility macro asset. When interest-rate expectations rise, investors can earn more from government bonds and cash instruments, reducing the appeal of assets that do not produce interest income.

Higher yields can also reduce liquidity and increase financing costs for hedge funds, crypto companies and leveraged traders.

ETF Outflows Weaken Institutional Support

US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds have recently delivered conflicting signals.

The funds attracted more than $1 billion across several sessions earlier in the week, including approximately $525 million on October 21. That buying initially suggested institutional demand was returning.

However, the trend reversed quickly. Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a net outflow of approximately $635.6 million on October 22, their largest single-day withdrawal since June. Another $137.9 million left the funds on October 23.

The two-session total reached approximately $773.5 million.

Despite those withdrawals, the funds still finished the week ending October 23 with estimated net inflows of approximately $301 million because of the strong buying recorded earlier.

This pattern indicates that institutional demand has not disappeared, but it has become less consistent. Bitcoin may struggle to establish a durable recovery unless ETF flows return to sustained positive territory.

Liquidations Deepened the Move Below $80,000

Leverage amplified Bitcoin’s recent decline.

When BTC fell below $80,000, total cryptocurrency liquidations reached approximately $820 million over 24 hours. More than 90% of the liquidated positions had been betting on higher prices.

Bitcoin-specific liquidations reached approximately $239.7 million.

Liquidations occur when an exchange automatically closes a leveraged position because the trader no longer has sufficient collateral. Large clusters of long liquidations can accelerate a decline because forced selling adds to ordinary market exits.

The recent flush has removed some excessive leverage from the market. However, it has also weakened short-term confidence and made traders more reluctant to rebuild bullish positions before the Fed decision.

Fed Decision Becomes the Main Bitcoin Catalyst

The Federal Reserve will announce its latest decision on Wednesday, October 28, at 2 p.m. Eastern Time, equivalent to 10 p.m. in the UAE.

Markets assign approximately an 88% to 90% probability that the Fed will leave its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 3.75%–4.00%.

A pause is therefore largely priced into Bitcoin. The more important factor will be Chair Kevin Warsh’s assessment of inflation and the possibility of another increase in December.

Inflation has exceeded forecasts for two consecutive months, while elevated fuel and diesel prices threaten to increase costs across the wider economy. Warsh could use the press conference to emphasize that the central bank remains committed to returning inflation to its 2% target.

Markets currently assign a high probability to at least one more quarter-point rate increase by December. A hawkish message could push Treasury yields and the dollar higher, increasing pressure on Bitcoin.

A less aggressive message could reduce those expectations and support a return above $80,000.

Three Possible Fed Scenarios for Bitcoin

Bitcoin’s response will depend on both the rate decision and the language used during the press conference.

Fed Scenario

Possible BTC/USD Reaction

Approximate BTC/AED Level

Hold with cautious guidance

$80,000–$82,000

AED 293,800–AED 301,145

Hold with a strong December-hike signal

$77,500–$79,000

AED 284,619–AED 290,128

Unexpected October hike

$74,000–$77,000

AED 271,765–AED 282,783

A straightforward pause may provide temporary relief, but it may not be enough to produce a sustained rally if Warsh signals that a December increase remains likely.

The most positive outcome for Bitcoin would be a pause accompanied by concern about slowing employment or tighter financial conditions. Such a message could reduce the expected path of interest rates and weaken the dollar.

An unexpected rate increase would likely produce the sharpest negative reaction because it would force markets to reconsider the entire policy outlook.

US Inflation Data Could Create a Second Volatility Event

The Fed meeting will not be the final catalyst of the week.

September’s Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index will be released on Thursday. Economists expect headline PCE inflation to rise to approximately 3.6%–3.7% year over year, while core inflation is forecast near 3.1%.

Because the report arrives after the Fed meeting, it will not affect Wednesday’s decision. It could, however, immediately change the probability of a December increase.

Hotter inflation would reinforce the higher-for-longer rate narrative and could keep Bitcoin below AED 300,000. A softer reading could support crypto prices by reducing pressure on yields and the dollar.

Major earnings from Microsoft, Alphabet and Amazon may also influence market sentiment. Evidence that AI spending remains productive could improve demand for technology and other risk assets. Disappointing results would increase the risk of another broad deleveraging move.

A sustained move above AED 294,000 would return Bitcoin above $80,000, but buyers would still need to clear AED 300,000 to establish a more convincing recovery.

If AED 290,000 fails, the market could retest AED 285,000. A break below that level would increase the risk of a deeper decline toward AED 275,000.

Bitcoin Price Outlook in the UAE

The Bitcoin price in UAE is likely to remain volatile near AED 292,500 before the Fed announcement.

ETF outflows and recent liquidations have weakened short-term momentum, while the prospect of another US rate increase continues to support the dollar and Treasury yields. At the same time, the market has already removed a substantial amount of leverage, potentially reducing the scale of additional forced selling.

Bitcoin needs sustained ETF inflows and a less hawkish Fed message to recover above AED 300,000. Without those catalysts, the cryptocurrency may continue consolidating between AED 285,000 and AED 300,000.

The Fed’s guidance on December, rather than the widely expected October pause itself, will probably determine whether the latest stabilization develops into a recovery or another leg lower.
